Wild Kingdom

March 24, 2010 § 1 Comment

Ten o’clock on Wednesday morning. I’m getting ready to head out the door for a ride and someone hasn’t even gotten out of bed yet. Would I be a complete hypocrite to tell him to get a job?

Approximately eleven o’clock, I come across this little fella in the middle of the road. This isn’t the best photo because he was in a state of constant motion, but he had the cutest little paddle feet ever. I probably gave him a heart attack scootching him off to the side of the road, at which point I realized he had some blood spots on his tail & was performing the counterclockwise spiral of death. Clockwise is okay, but counterclockwise is bad news (think: Merco criterium, any velodrome.) Poor little bastard.

i too found a little bird that looks like yours on the side of the road. it had red on its wings and a little yellow on its tail. I held it for a little and then it died in my hands…it was very sad.
