Lovely weekend. None of my personal goals met, but I’ll be damned if it wasn’t a really great race and I didn’t learn a lot.

A few lessons that stick with me…

– if you have to see a teammate come up the final hill in a police car, it’s good to know they let her sit in the front seat.
– skipping 90% of your pulls for 70% of the race then attacking up the hill to be the first in your group to cross the line is not the way to win friends or respect (and if you’re in the last group to finish it’s not even tactical, it’s just silly).
– if the legs are completely empty, the ability to hold a conversation the whole time doesn’t mean you aren’t redlined.
– there’s no way this pony will learn more tricks unless I keep coming back for more of these.
